Made fabulously happy by email snippet...

Simply because it's cool and slightly improbable and I can't imagine who this would be, if indeed I do know this person.
From the divine Ms. Elizabeth ([profile] elizabethth over at DreamHaven Books:
"A man with a French accent called the store this week to see if we had
signed copies of your book in stock, and then stopped by on his way to the
airport to buy a copy."
Wow. :-)))
Am beginning to build equally improbable story around this in back of scary reptile brain.

Perhaps he's a French werewolf, and he's buying your book as an offering to the lupine goddess of...um...some forest in France, and she's more likely to grant him a wish if the book is signed.

Excellent! I like this better than the other notions to date. I'm picturing a goddess along the lines of the Papal agent in 'Brotherhood of the Wolf' (not recommended, if you haven't seen it. She's the most interesting character in it and she's not on nearly enough). :-)))
