Mothers, in general, see post-operation
So normal people's mothers get the phones turned on in their rooms when they go into the hospital for a week or so, right? I'm just checking so I have a standard to go by. :-(
Word on Monday says the hip replacement surgery went well so that's something.

But...when my father broke his back, requiring several days stay in the hospital, he and my mother kinda, oh, forgot to call me. At, well, any point. Fortunately, I called them at home after he was home. Thus, I learned he hadn't been spending the last few days golfing. Likewise for the gallbladder situation. Fortunately, my brother just happened to be home when my father needed an emergency appendectomy. Otherwise, I might never have known...

Could be she just had too much else on her mind. Plus reaching for phone just after a hip replacement might not be a fun thing.
