Things continuing to look up...

Jana's mom is doing much better and may get to go home on Monday.

My first Anthology Builder custom book showed up from Lulu today and it looks pretty good. I'm going to read through it and take a closer look but I'd say this service is definitely worth trying (and not just because I have 2 stories up, though that helps). http://www.anthologybuilder.com/

The cat, who was violently ill on Thursday night, is also doing much, much better.

And I just got back from a trip to The Angry Robot (sometimes known as the Walker Art Center) where we got to see the Frida Kahlo show. http://calendar.walkerart.org/canopy.wac?id=3156
This is an amazing show, for all that you have to wander the hundred acres of alienating white corridors to see it. They've got a number of pieces up that I've never seen reproduced before, many of them quite intense and beautiful. It's only in town for another 2 weeks so go check it now.
We followed it up by trekking over to a fabulous Malaysian restaurant (Peninsula) on Nicollet for one of the best lunches I've ever had. Excellent company and food made for a lovely afternoon. Yay, Terry for suggesting it! :-D

I'm also enjoying "Jane Eyre" on PBS but not as much as I suspect I'll enjoy the Jane Austen fest that they're doing for the next 6 weeks. The Brontes have always been a tad too over the top for me - mad women in the attics, shrieking and running about on the moors, heroes so obnoxious that they have to be mangled to be acceptable. "Jane Eyre" is definitely my favorite of their ouevre but it still doesn't trump my wide-eyed fannish enthusiasm for Austen. Am in total squee mode at the notion that they may do a decent version of "Persuasion" and "Northanger Abbey."

Now to do some writing.

Yes, I do believe Peninsula may be my new favorite Asian place.
