MN Fall Con and other adventures

This week has been relatively lowkey, what between the recovering from Hell Cold and rescheduling things and trying to get caught up and all. Tonight, I stopped by the Minnesota Center for Book Arts for the Mimic: Modern Marbled Objects Show (Jana has a couple of pieces in it). Tomorrow night, I'm going to Jimmy and Lorraine: A Musing, a play about James Baldwin and Lorraine Hansberry in conversation about the history of their times at Pillsbury House Theater with a friend. Saturday, Queen of Swords Press has a book table at the Midwest Comic Book Association Fall ComicCon. Michael Merriam will be joining me and we'll have chocolate and copies of Unfinished Business and other good stuff. Sunday is finishing rudimentary weather-proofing of the attic, visiting Mom (I don't talk about this much because she's declined a lot and isn't very interactive any more), then off to the Apple House at the Arboretum for fresh apples and other tasty stuff. Then home to read manuscripts, edit and write a bit.

Next week brings:
  • A book release for Unfinished Business at DreamHaven on Wednesday
  • Twin Cities Book Festival - Saturday, October 12th. Queen of Swords Press will have a table and Michael Merriam will be joining us for that too.
  • After the Book Fest, I'm off to hear Shawn Colvin and Mary Chapin Carpenter perform at St. Catherine's.
  • Then on Sunday, I'll be teaching "Crimson Peaks and Menacing Mansions: Writing Gothic Horror" at Cat Rambo's Writing Academy. There are still a few openings for this one, if you know anyone who's interested.
Full steam ahead!
