"At Mother Laurie's House of Bliss" just got accepted for the anthology "The Ladies of Trade Town" edited by Lee Martindale, forthcoming 2011 from Norilana Books. The antho has an intriguing concept - sf/f (nonerotic) about sex workers. My story is something new for me, namely, a closed room mystery with fantasy elements and a gay male protagonist. I've written a few stories with male protags, gay and straight, but the mystery element made for an interesting stretch. I'm really looking forward to reading this book, not to mention being thrilled at being included. :)

I'm knuckling down on the home stretch of "Silver Moon" - 20k more words to go. I'm pushing to get 5k words written every week. August is going to be dayjob hell so this is do or die time. Wish me luck!

Because who doesn't love random links?

I just agreed to do a reading with Pat Cronin and Lori Lake at True Colors Bookstore on (corrected to) Saturday, August 7th at 4PM. We will be reading from the new erotica anthology Women in Uniform, edited by Vada Foster and Pat Cronin, Regal Crest 2010.
There may also be a discussion, moderated by the fabulous Ellen Hart. The book has quite the line-up, including stories by J.M Redmann, Lee Lynch, Jessie Chandler (who might read with us too!) as well as a host of other great folks.

Some links, courtesy of thadeus: "Reclipse: Yes, Twilight Still Sucks" out at the Skepchicks blog. The review is amusing but the list of "Five Things That Are More Important to Rage About Than Twilight" is absolutely awesome. I particularly like the reasons to rage against the Catholic Church and "If you need me, I’ll be stabbing myself in the head with a bear." Great stuff.

Slushpile Hell - the wacky, fun-filled mailbox of a real live literary agent and the aspiring writers who drive her to...well, incredible snarkiness.

And finally, rm is hosting an auction out at graduating_maria to help a friend complete her college degree. There are some terrific items up for bid and I'm guessing more auction items would be welcome too.
