Friday was an exciting run of headaches and odds and ends. Apparently being on the road for a few weeks + day job + frequent headaches gives me an exciting backlog of things to do. These range from the basic (catch up on email, clean the house, do sundry clothing care taking - the pile of hand wash alone is breath-taking) to the major (actually write, finish going through anthology submissions, occasionally rest). I made some headway Friday night, and more this morning, but the to do list is still epic.
Yesterday was a pleasant and fruitful trip to the Stonearch Arts Festival downtown (also going on today) where I acquired a nice medium-sized purse from a woman who does her own leatherworking, 2 pretty clay trays which we're already using and a nifty little ceramic box with leaf and seed imprints on it. I collect small handmade boxes so this was a fine addition. We went up to one of our favorite Afghani restaurants (Crescent Moon, on Central) for lunch and as much of the World Cup as we've seen so far.

Then it was back home for more work, followed by, ta-da, another migraine. Apparently my geographic range is picking up and I can tune in on storm fronts miles and miles away. Huzzah. So we called it a night and watched The Jade Warrior, a Finnish-Chinese wushu style sword and sorcery film - well done, seriously angsty but worth seeing, and The Thin Man, which was less funny than I remembered it being. The best line actually came from Jana; Myrna Lory sweeps in an over-the-top boudoir sort of pantsuit dealie and I chirped, "I want one." William Powell appears onscreen clutching yet another bottle and clearly inebriated. Jana, " What? A lush? I don't think I can help you with that." :-)

Today, still headachey, but making progress. Yay!
Happy Father's Day to you dads out there!
